My name is Anne and I am a UI/UX designer in Singapore. Before the COVID-19 pandemic struck I used to have typical Singaporean office hours. My job was taking most of my time and energy and it has been hard to find a good balance between work, leisure and rest. The good thing about quarantine during the pandemic a is that by working from home, I now have more time and opportunities to take care of my body and health.

There was one particular personal health issue that I wanted to resolve - my pre-period stomach pains. Two to three days before every cycle I would feel a very tight pain in the stomach. This pain would often make an already heavy workload at the office feel even more stressful and burdensome.

My first move was to buy a classic water warmer. It did improve the pain, and it was manageable to use at home, but there were a few difficulties that made this solution unsustainable. First, it takes a lot of time to both prepare and to use. You need to boil some water, wait for the temperature to cool off a bit, and wash the warmer between every use. To have effective results, the warmer needs to be put on your belly for quite some time. In addition, the strong and unpleasant smell of hot plastic that the hot warmer will leave in the room and on you ( or your clothes) is another con for me. I live in a shared apartment so I would feel bad for my roommate every time I used it and make the living room smell like a plastic factory, so I’m not even considering taking it to work!

I started to look for another solution and heard about the Ying Yi period self-care routine. Off the bat, their Herbal Warmer was what interested me, so I decided to try the whole routine for one month and see how it goes. Their Herbal Warmer definitely did not come with the same issues I had with my previous warmer. All you need is 30 secs in the microwave and it’s hot and ready. It’s reusable (without the need to wash) and most importantly, it smells very good! For my roommate, it felt like I started to use an interior scent!

Like I said my focus was the warmer, but I was pleasantly surprised by their Period Tea routine, I always crave for some sweet taste during my period, and their Tea became my favourite treat during this time (I also loved that I could add some honey in my tea for the perfect blend!)The tea paired with the Herbal Warmer did resolve my pain in a pleasant and convenient way. I used this routine for one month but could feel the benefit even after this one month trial. This is a solution that I can use daily regardless of whether I’m at work or home.

I would recommend this routine without any hesitation to all office workers looking for a natural and convenient solution for their period pains.
